چکیده

A multicentric epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) of the bone is reported which affected the right femur, the right patella and the right fibula of a 56-year-old man. Plain radiographs demonstrated purely lytic multicentric lesions with well-defined sclerotic borders. Computed tomography (CT) scans showed multiple osteolytic lesions in a honeycomb pattern at the epiphyseal lesion of the right femur; the other lesions of the right femoral shaft, the right patella and the right fibula were punched out sharply. Magnetic resonance (MR) images showed that the tumors contained mixed signal intensities: low intensity for T1-weighted images and high intensity for T2-weighted images. Histologically, the tumor was discerned as EHE with a spectrum of endothelial tumor, with the added feature of epithelioid hemangioma in a limited area. As for the initial treatment, curettage and bone cementing were performed for the epiphyseal tumor of the right femur, followed by surgical resections of the other tumors. Neither recurrence nor metastasis was observed 3 years after resection.

Multicentric Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma Involving the Same Lower Extremity: A Case Report and Review of Literature

Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EH) is an uncommon low-grade malignant soft-tissue tumor; no case has been previously reported where multicentric epithelioid hemangioendothelioma occurred in the same lower extremity at different sites. We report a case involving the common peroneal nerve and subsequently the long bone and the short bones of the same lower extremity, and also review the litera...

Primary Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma Arising at Vulva: a Case Report

Vulvar epithelioid hemangioendothelioma as primary site is extremely rare tumor that may be confused with other mesenchymal tumors due to their rarity and its histologic features. We report a case of 46-year-old woman who presented to hospital with left vulvar mass. The mass was located in subcutaneous area of vulva, and well marginated contrast enhanced on radiologic examination. Local excisio...

Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma of the Distal Radius: A Case Report

Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma is a rare vascular tumor with cytologic behavior between angiosarcoma and hemangioma. We present the case of a 58-year-old male with primary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma of the distal radius measuring 6.2 × 5 cm with extension into the pronator quadratus and brachioradialis muscles. We discuss our approach to performing a limb-sparing resection combined with...

Vascular Tumors of Intermediate Malignancy: A Review and Update

Vascular tumors of intermediate malignancy encompass a broad range of histologic entities. They are characterized clinically by having a high risk of local recurrence and limited risk of regional or distant metastasis. Vascular tumors of intermediate malignancy frequently present in the skin and often cause diagnostic diffi culty. This article reviews the clinical and histologic features of kap...

Multicentric epithelioid angiosarcoma of bone.

Bone epithelioid angiosarcoma is rare and generally shows positive immunostaining for epithelial markers. Multicentric bone epithelioid angiosarcoma is easily misdiagnosed as carcinoma, including metastatic carcinoma, multiple myeloma, and multiple lymphoma of bone. This article describes a case of multicentric bone epithelioid angiosarcoma. The patient was first misdiagnosed as having metastat...
